They look like an adult but they don't the skills or wisdom of an adult. And theor peers become more important than their family, so parents can feel like they have 'lost' their child.

And then there is the need to let go and allow them to make their own mistakes, whilst finding a new relationship with your partner or suddenly having more time for yourself…
